Sony ZV-1 India Price | First Sale on Aug 6 on Amazon

Sony has officially launched ZV-1 Vlog Camera in India at a price of Rs 77,990 MRP. It will be available for an offer price of Rs 67,990 on the launch day on Aug 6th online on Amazon.in. This is one of the many new products launching on Amazon.in part of their 2-day Amazon Prime Day 2020 Sale.  Sony ZV-1 is the first camera from the Japanese giants to feature a flip-out screen. Even the high-end Sony Alpha A7 and A9 series do not have a flip-out screen. This is also the first camera from Sony made specially for Vloggers.  It has a lot in common with the RX100 series of cameras. It comes with a 1-inch sensor, which is a much bigger sensor than what you get in an Android smartphone. So low light performance, sharpness, and depth of field wide open would be much better than your normal smartphone when shooting videos. Since this has Sony's fantastic 1-inch sensor, you can also take some great photos with it.  Sony has also implemented this camera with Product Showc...

Sony ZV-1 vs RX100 | Which one to buy ?

Sony has just launched ZV-1 , a camera made specially for vloggers and video shooters. It has similar specs and build as the Sony's own RX100 series of cameras.  Specs-wise, ZV-1 is almost the same as the  DSC-RX100M5A.   Check out the specs comparisons, differences, pros, and cons below. What's common? 1 inch stacked CMOS sensor Same battery Eye-AF feature ( older RX100 variants do not support this ) 4K @ 30fps maximum  ND Filter ( latest RX100 models do not have this, but older ones do ) Steadyshot  Sony ZV-1 comes with a flip-out, fully articulating screen which is not seen on any RX100 or Sony Alpha series cameras. There is also an MI ( Multi-interface ) shoe placed conveniently to the side, with which you can add a pro mic or a flash to create a more professional setup.  Sony is also introducing a product showcase Autofocus mode in the ZV-1. This works really well and will come in handy during unboxing videos. RX100 series do not have th...

What's stopping Sony from launching Alpha A7S3 ( ILCE-7SM3 )?

Sony's A7S series is known for its low light Video capture and was once the go-to camera to shoot high-quality 4K videos in challenging lighting conditions. It can see in the Dark and perform better than any other similarly priced cameras in high ISO conditions. A7S2 ( ILCE-7SM2 ) has been out for a while now, and A7S3 / ILCE-7SM3 is long overdue. What's stopping Sony from bringing its flagship video-centric mirrorless camera to the market? If you look at recently launched Sony bodies like the A9 Mark 2, A7R3 Mark 4, APS-C flagship A6600, you would notice one major feature missing on all those bodies. None of these cameras can shoot 4K at 60fps. While every major camera manufacturer is launching new bodies with 60fps 4K, for some reason Sony is not able to launch one with it. It's a curious case. Maybe there is some technical issue Sony is facing with the technology they have, that is stopping them from implementing this feature.  Sony's recently launched FX...

Sony WX800 vs WX500 | Specs Comparison | Which one to buy ?

Sony has many superzoom point and shoot cameras in their WX and HX series line-ups. Of those, DSC-WX500 and DSC-WX800 ( DSC-HX99 ) are the popular ones, that offer around 30x zoom. That's a lot of zoom to have in a camera you can carry in your pocket.  The WX800 , also know as Sony HX99 in some markets is the newer one and is also the more expensive one. It has a price tag of Rs. 32,190 in India ( $499 in the US ) . WX500 , on the other hand, has an MRP price of Rs 22,490 in India ( $347 in the US ). If you look at the specs, you would see both featuring the same 18.2MP sensor and offer a similar zoom range. So which one to buy? What to expect from Sony Alpha in 2020

While Nikon and Canon were launching new DSLR cameras, Sony was busy concentrating all their resources on developing their Mirrorless Camera System. Sony clearly understood Mirrorless is the future and put out cameras after cameras under SonyAlpha branding. Thanks to this early vision, they got a head start in the mirrorless camera market. The Sony A6000 Mirrorless Camera with an APS-C crop sensor ( even though ship with the worst Kit lens on any camera ) became an instant hit. It was replacing two cameras - Nex 6 and Nex7. I myself bought one in 2015 and was amazed by how lightweight and easy to carry around this camera is. Sony released many more in the A6000 series after that - A6300, A6500, A6600, A6400, and A6100. All were received quite well, except the A6300 which had some severe heating issues during long 4K recording. In the Full Frame Mirrorless Market, Sony was the only manufacturer launching new cameras. Only recently Nikon, Canon and Panasonic stepped into this segmen...

According to SonyAlphaRumours , the next gen Sony Alpha A7S model will come with some impressive specs. Some of these specs are completely new to Sony Alpha line of cameras. Older A7S first and second gen variants only had 12MP sensors. That's going to change with the upcoming A7S III model. Sony launches RX0 Mark 2 with a Flip Up Vlogging Screen

Sony loves to experiment. They have made a lot of 'innovative' devices and gadgets in the past - some clicked and while some other failed. RX0 when launched, was one such device. Until that point all rugged compact cameras like GoPro shipped with a small sensor, while the RX0 had a bigger 1 inch sensor on board. It didn't attract a lot of buyers though. Now Sony has come up with an improved version of this camera - RX0 II ( RX0M2 ). So What's New in RX0M2 ? Internal 4K recording Image Stabilization support A FLIP UP SCREEN Eye AF support The original RX0 didn't support any image stabilization or 4K internal recording. The newer RX0 II fixes those. It also comes with a Flip up screen like the one we saw on Sony Alpha 6400, albeit a very small in size. It's not a touchscreen however, and is there just for you to make sure your face is in the frame. It also supports Sony's Eye AF feature for some great quality selfies.  RX0 II Full Specs Zeis...

Sony A6000, A6300, A6400 or A6500 ? Which one to buy ?

Sony makes a wide variety of mirrorless cameras for the masses. Their most popular cameras currently are the A6000 series and A7 Series . Sony also makes Cybershot point and shoot cameras as well as some high quality RX series cameras. In the Sony Alpha A6000 series, there are currently 4 cameras available in the market - A6000, A6300, A6400 and A6500 . All these cameras have APS-C size sensors which are one level below Full Frame sensors seen on A7 series of cameras. The oldest one and the cheapest one in the lineup A6000 is the most popular in the series and are still available to purchase. Is it worth buying this in 2019 ?  If you are able to buy A6000 for around 35K-40K with kit lens, i would say it's a good buy. It doesn't come with 4K support. The camera is lightweight and compact, so easy to carry around.  Sony A6300 - the successor to A6000 can shoot 4K videos. However, i would highly recommend you stay away from this model as it is notorious for over heating...
