DJI Mini 2 in stock on Amazon US - No Pre-orders Needed

DJI has launched Mini 2 Drone in the US at a price of  $449 . You can also buy the Fly More Combo for $599 . It is now in stock online on Amazon.com - no pre-orders needed ( check here ). DJI Mini 2 ( or Mavic Mini 2 ) is the 2nd generation model with improved overall specs. It can now shoot 4K @ 30fps videos while the first-gen Mavic Mini could only shoot 2.7K videos. This newer model lets you take dng raw photos as well which was missing on the first-gen model. It is still lightweight, under 250g, which means you do not need to register or get a licence to fly it in the US.  In India, Mavic Mini 2 will be available to purchase online from Amazon.in in the coming weeks. India Drone Rules 2020 Height Restrictions for DJI Mavic Mini

DGCA has updated Drone rules on Aug 15, 2020 on their Digital Sky Platform. If you have been planning to buy a new Drone like DJI Mavic Mini or Mavic Air, i would suggest you read the updated DO's and Don't's as chances are you would probably be breaking some rules if you take it up the sky. There are different categories of Drones or RPAs available. Of these, products like DJI Mavic Mini comes under the Nano category. All drones weighing under 250g come under the Nano. The advantage of using this type of Drone is that you don't need any licence to fly it nor you need prior permission. However, according to the official DGCA website, all drones under Nano category have a 50ft ( 15meters ) allowed height limit.  "Nano RPA (less than 250 gm) is exempted from obtaining UIN and UAOP. DJI Mavic Air 2 up for Pre-order online on Amazon US

DJI has just announced Mavic Air 2 drone with improved specs and features. It is priced at $799 for the regular model and $998 for Fly More Combo and is available to pre-order from Amazon US ( check here ). It will ship to customers on May 11, 2020. DJI Mavic Air 2 features a 1/2 inch CMOS 48MP Quad-Bayer sensor ( probably made by Sony ) which is now popular on a wide range of Android smartphones. The quad-Bayer arrangement means, by default, it takes 12MP photos with increased dynamic range and quality. You can also shoot 48MP high-resolution shots with it. It offers a 24mm focal length and the aperture is F2.8. Thanks to the pixel binning tech, Mavic Air 2 offers Enhanced HDR Photos, Videos as well as Panoramas. DNG Raw shooting is supported as well. 4K @ 60fps support lets you shoot high-quality videos.
