Why many think Sony A6600 is a bad upgrade

Sony recently launched A6600 and A6100 mirrorless cameras . Sony Alpha A6600 is their current flagship APS-C camera while the A6100 is aimed at first time mirrorless camera owners. A lot of Sony fans were quite unimpressed by the specs of the A6600. Many professionals who often use A6000 series of camera were also disappointed by the specs as they were expecting something else. No 4K @ 60fps - a lot of new flagship APS-C and Full Frame cameras launching in 2019 are now giving an option to record 60fps 4K. It's very surprising to see Sony, who used to offer 4K when a lot of others were stuck on 1080P, choosing not to bring 4K @ 60fps to A6600.  Same old sensor - A6600 comes with the same sensor as the old A6500. Sony A6000 vs Sony A5100 | Which one to Buy ? Specs & Price Comparison

Sony A6000 and A5100 have been available in the market for a while. They are launched in 2014. However, they are still good cameras to buy if you are just starting out in photography or want to buy your first mirrorless camera. Both A6000 and A5100 feature the same exact sensor, same processor and same auto focus system. So image quality-wise, you are getting the same output from both of these cameras. They come with the same kit lens as well - 16-50mm 3.5. Both come with the same exact battery as well. Sony A6000, A6300, A6400 or A6500 ? Which one to buy ?

Sony makes a wide variety of mirrorless cameras for the masses. Their most popular cameras currently are the A6000 series and A7 Series . Sony also makes Cybershot point and shoot cameras as well as some high quality RX series cameras. In the Sony Alpha A6000 series, there are currently 4 cameras available in the market - A6000, A6300, A6400 and A6500 . All these cameras have APS-C size sensors which are one level below Full Frame sensors seen on A7 series of cameras. The oldest one and the cheapest one in the lineup A6000 is the most popular in the series and are still available to purchase. Is it worth buying this in 2019 ?  If you are able to buy A6000 for around 35K-40K with kit lens, i would say it's a good buy. It doesn't come with 4K support. The camera is lightweight and compact, so easy to carry around.  Sony A6300 - the successor to A6000 can shoot 4K videos. However, i would highly recommend you stay away from this model as it is notorious for over heating
