OnePlus 7T vs OnePlus 8 Specs Comparison | Is it worth upgrading ?

OnePlus has officially announced OnePlus 8 Series mobiles globally. The regular OnePlus 8 model is a mid-range Flagship phone comparing to the more expensive Pro model. Is it that better than the last year's OnePlus 7T?  Let's analyze. OnePlus 7T is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ Octacore chipset and comes with 6.55 inches AMOLED Full HD+ display. Newer OnePlus 8, on the other hand, is powered by Snapdragon 865 chipset and naturally has 5G support. It has the same 6.55 inch AMOLED display with the same resolution and aspect ratio ( 20:9 ). Both have the same 90hz refresh rate as well. When you look at the display, the main visible difference you can spot is the placement of the camera. On the 7T, it was placed at the top middle as a waterdrop notch, while on the OnePlus 8, it's now a hole-punch style cut out on the left top corner. Last year's OnePlus 7T pro had a pop-up selfie camera that is not seen on these newer OnePlus 8 Series of smartphones.  So P...

Phones with 120Hz Refresh Rate Displays are Coming Soon

In 2019, we saw a lot of flagship Android smartphones adopting a display with 90Hz refresh rate. These phones offered a great fluid experience thanks to it's higher frame rates. OnePlus had it on their 7T series and a lot of reviewers around the planet were impressed by the display quality. Google Pixel 4 too had a similar display on board. Samsung on the other hand, didn't release any such higher refresh rate in 2019. It was quite surprising to see that as almost all 90Hz AMOLED screens seen on other phones were made by Samsung. In 2020, Samsung is going to skip 90hz and jump straight in to 120Hz screens on their upcoming Galaxy S20 Series of smartphones. This should allow some, very butter smooth UI experience on these upcoming flagship phones. OnePlus 8 Series will also come with a 120Hz display. One other smartphone currently expected to come with a similar screen is Oppo Find X2. Oppo's Vice President Brian Shen has this to say about the display on the Find X...
