When you copy some new folders on to your sdcard or OTG USB pendrive, and plug it in to your Android smartphone, Google Photos often fail to show them in the image gallery. There are a few things you can try to fix this. Open Google Photos App on your Phone and click on 'Device Folders' from the side menu. Plug in your USB OTG pendrive after that and wait for a few minutes for the app to populate the images on the external storage in the Photo Gallery If the above doesn't work at all, Go to Apps and Find 'Media Storage'. Clearing Data of that particular app will force the Android system to repopulate the Gallery. Close the Google photos app and open it again. It will take some time for the process to complete.
