New 2022 Apple iPad 10.9-inch 10th Gen Listed on Amazon India

Apple has redesigned its best-selling iPad 10.2-inch model and made some welcome changes. The 10th Generation Apple iPad is now longer 10.2. The screen is now slightly bigger at 10.9-inches It has lost a few things as well compared to last year's 9th Gen iPad 10.2-inch models.

Amazon India ( Amazon.in ) has listed many of these models. These will be available to pre-order from Amazon.in in the coming days.

The new iPad 10.9-inch 10th Generation tablets do not have lightning ports. It now comes with a USB Type-C port which is a very welcome change as the rest of the world has adopted it as the new standard.

The Touch ID button which was an identity of Apple iPads is now gone as well. The Touch ID fingerprint reader functionality is still there, but it's now integrated into the power button.

The camera used to be on the portrait side of the tab. On the new 2022 iPad, it has moved to the horizontal - longer area - letting you have more horizontal space when having Zoom and Google Meet video calls. It also has a new 12MP sensor on the front as well as on the rear. The rear camera can now shoot 4K up to 60fps. The older 9th gen and 8th gen iPad could only do 1080P with their rear cameras.

While the high-end iPads have Apple M1 and M2 chips, the base iPad still uses Apple's old A Series chipsets. The iPad 10th Gen model is equipped with A14 Bionic chips, which even though a bit old, is still powerful enough.

Older iPad 10.2 models only support WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4.1. The new 10.9 model comes with WiFI 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 offering better speeds.

Even though a lot of new things are available on this 2022 iPad, Apple only supports Apple Pencil Gen 1 on these models. That's a bummer.

There is one other big difference as well - the Price. The MRP India price of the iPad 10.9 ( 10th Gen ) starts at ₹44900 for the base 64GB WiFi-only model. The older 9th Gen model price, when launched started at ₹33900. So the price difference is quite big.

[ FIX ] Ubuntu 20.04 Bluetooth doesn't Turn On

I have been using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for a while now with my Ubuntu 20.04. Everything worked well without any issues until one day the operating system refused to turn on the Bluetooth. I could toggle Bluetooth On button from the Settings, but it did nothing.  After spending some time Google Searching why my Bluetooth started not working all of a sudden, and after trying a variety of commands to troubleshoot the problem, I finally found a working fix for this issue. Open a Terminal ( Ctrl + Alt + T )  and enter below commands one after another.  sudo rmmod btusb sudo modprobe btusb That's it. Your Bluetooth issue would be now solved.  I can guarantee you this problem is going to pop-up every now and then. So copy the above commands to a text file for future uses. Sometimes, even after entering above commands the bluetooth would refuse to turn on. In such cases, just Suspend the system and then wake up it again and check.

Reduce External Monitor Brightness on Ubuntu 20.04, 21.10

External Monitors are a great addition to any workspace. I have a Full HD Benq one connected with my laptop via HDMI cable to do multi-tasking. What I don't like about this setup is the external screen is still very bright even after setting it to the lowest possible setting via physical buttons present on the monitor. Changing brightness on the Laptop doesn't affect the brightness of the external monitor. However, In Ubuntu, you can adjust the brightness level of any connected monitor by opening up a terminal/command line and entering a few comments. Xrandr is the command we would be using to achieve this. How to change External Monitor Brightness on Ubuntu Linux Open a Terminal ( Ctrl + Alt + T ) Enter the command xrandr -q | grep " connected" and press Enter. Find the external monitor name displayed in this command's output. In my case, it is  HDMI-1 To change the brightness enter this command xrandr --output HDMI-1 --brightness 0.5 and press Ente...
