Samsung Galaxy A21s Launched in India | Price, Specs

Samsung has launched Galaxy A21s in India online at a price of Rs 16,499 - Rs 18,499. It is available in 3 different colors - Black, Blue, and White.

Rs 16,499 variant comes with 4GB of ram and 64GB of storage while the Rs 18,499 model has 6GB of ram and 64GB of storage. There is no 128GB variant launched in India.

Samsung Galaxy A21s is a mid-range Android smartphone powered by Exynos 850 Octa-Core Processor. This is the first Samsung phone to ship with this chipset. The Exynos 850 has 8 power-efficient Cortex A55 cores which are quite rare to see in a chipset these days. Usually, OEMs mix 4 power-hungry cores with 4 power-efficient cores to balance performance and battery life. For eg Samsung Exynos 9611 features four Cortex-A73 cores + four Cortex-A53 cores.

Galaxy A21s features a 6.5 inch 1600 x 720 Pixels HD screen and has a TFT infinity-O display. It ships with Android 10 out of the box. Samsung has equipped this with a big 5000mAh battery, which along with 4 Cortex-A55 cores should give good battery backup. Since this is a Samsung A-series smartphone, it has better build quality than the cheaper Galaxy M Series devices.

In the camera department, Samsung is using the usual popular combination of 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-camera setup at the back. On the front, you get a 13MP selfie shooter.

Specs and Features
  • Exynos 850 Octa-core processor
  • 6.5 inch TFT display ( 1600 x 720 Pixels resolution )
  • 5000mAh battery
  • Android 10 operating system
  • 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP rear cameras
  • 13MP front camera
Is this a good value for money device?
I am really disappointed with the pricing of this smartphone. This doesn't come with a Full HD display or an AMOLED screen which some of the cheaper Samsung phones launched in 2019 had. It also has this new chipset which clearly is designed to get better battery backup than to get the best performance. So IMO, for Rs 16,499 price, I don't think it's a good value for money device.

[ FIX ] Ubuntu 20.04 Bluetooth doesn't Turn On

I have been using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for a while now with my Ubuntu 20.04. Everything worked well without any issues until one day the operating system refused to turn on the Bluetooth. I could toggle Bluetooth On button from the Settings, but it did nothing.  After spending some time Google Searching why my Bluetooth started not working all of a sudden, and after trying a variety of commands to troubleshoot the problem, I finally found a working fix for this issue. Open a Terminal ( Ctrl + Alt + T )  and enter below commands one after another.  sudo rmmod btusb sudo modprobe btusb That's it. Your Bluetooth issue would be now solved.  I can guarantee you this problem is going to pop-up every now and then. So copy the above commands to a text file for future uses. Sometimes, even after entering above commands the bluetooth would refuse to turn on. In such cases, just Suspend the system and then wake up it again and check.

Reduce External Monitor Brightness on Ubuntu 20.04, 21.10

External Monitors are a great addition to any workspace. I have a Full HD Benq one connected with my laptop via HDMI cable to do multi-tasking. What I don't like about this setup is the external screen is still very bright even after setting it to the lowest possible setting via physical buttons present on the monitor. Changing brightness on the Laptop doesn't affect the brightness of the external monitor. However, In Ubuntu, you can adjust the brightness level of any connected monitor by opening up a terminal/command line and entering a few comments. Xrandr is the command we would be using to achieve this. How to change External Monitor Brightness on Ubuntu Linux Open a Terminal ( Ctrl + Alt + T ) Enter the command xrandr -q | grep " connected" and press Enter. Find the external monitor name displayed in this command's output. In my case, it is  HDMI-1 To change the brightness enter this command xrandr --output HDMI-1 --brightness 0.5 and press Ente...
