OnePlus 8 Pro vs Mi 10 5G Specs - Differences
Let's talk about the camera first as many customers look at this first when buying a smartphone these days. Mi 10 5G features Samsung made 108MP main camera which has got great reviews on DxOMark and other websites. OnePlus, on the other hand, uses a custom made Sony 48MP sensor as it's the main camera. Both use Super Pixel, pixel binning tech to combine pixels and output smaller MP files with increased dynamic range. Mi 10 produces 27MP shots while OnePlus 8 Pro takes 12MP shots by default. You can shoot full MP shots as well, but that would take more storage space.
So which one is better ? 108MP or 48MP. In my opinion, both these sensors are among the best currently in the market and should produce good results. Btw, more MP doesn't always mean better image quality.
OnePlus 8 Pro has a better camera combination at the back comparing to Mi 10. Next to the 48MP sensor, there is another Sony-made 48MP shooter for the ultra-wide-angle camera. This camera doubles up as a fantastic macro lens as well. There is also a dedicated 8MP telephoto lens with OIS offering up to 30x digital zoom. Mi 10, on the other hand, comes with a regular 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a dedicated 2MP macro lens. There is no telephoto lens on the Mi 10. Bummer!
Since Mi 10 has a big 108MP sensor and with the help of Snapdragon 865 on board, it can shoot 8K @ 30fps videos as well as 4K @ 60fps. The maximum OnePlus 8 Pro can shoot is 4K @ 60fps.
OnePlus trumps Xiaomi in the display department as well. Mi 10 5G features a Full HD+, Super AMOLED screen with a 90hz refresh rate. OnePlus 8 Pro, on the other hand, has a Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a 120hz refresh rate! So resolution-wise as well as Fluidity-wise, OnePlus has the upper hand here.
Mi 10 ships with MIUI 11 based on Android 10. OnePlus 8 Pro has an Oxygen OS based on Android 10. Xiaomi is also preparing to push out MIUI 12 with new UI to Mi 10 and other phones soon. Some prefer Xiaomi's UI while many others prefer close to stock Android UI Oxygen OS comes with.
OnePlus 8 Pro is the first OnePlus smartphone to come with IP68 water and dust resistance. Mi 10 doesn't have any such certification.
