Motorola Edge+ up for Pre-order on Flipkart | Price Rs 74,999

Motorola Edge+ is now available to pre-order in India online on Flipkart. It is currently available in Thunder Grey color and will be also available in Smokey Sangria color in the future. MRP price is Rs 89,999. It will ship to customers on May 26th, 2020.

Moto Edge+ Price in India: Rs 74,999 ( pre-order link ). In the US, the price is $999.
Limited Time Launch Offer: Flat ₹7500 off on ICICI Bank Credit Cards

Motorola hasn't been making flagship smartphone for a few years now. They have been concentrating on building budget and mid-range smartphones for a while now. So Edge+ is the company's comeback flagship smartphone and naturally, it features high-end specs.

Like every other flagship launching in 2020, the Motorola Edge Plus is powered by Snapdragon 865 octa-core chipset and comes with 5G network support.

The display is a 6.7 inch Full HD+ OLED screen offering a 90Hz refresh rate. Motorola chose not to go Quad HD resolution and 120hz refresh rate to get better battery usage out of the phone.

It ships with Android 10 operating system and has 12GB ram and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

The main highlight of this smartphone is its camera system. Like the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, this also features the top-end Samsung made 108MP sensor. It also features a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens ( 13mm wide ) and an 8MP telephoto lens ( 3x optical zoom ). There is a 4th sensor on the back used to capture depth information to use in portrait shots.

On the front, Edge+ comes with a hole-punch 20MP sensor.

Even though this has an 8K capable sensor and chipset, Motorola Edge Plus supports up to 6K @ 30fps only, which I think would more than enough for most. The front camera can shoot Full HD videos.

Edge Plus is equipped with a big 5000mAh battery. 18W fast charging is supported which is just average since most flagship phones these days support a minimum 30W fast charging. You can also charge with wireless at 15W.

[ FIX ] Ubuntu 20.04 Bluetooth doesn't Turn On

I have been using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for a while now with my Ubuntu 20.04. Everything worked well without any issues until one day the operating system refused to turn on the Bluetooth. I could toggle Bluetooth On button from the Settings, but it did nothing.  After spending some time Google Searching why my Bluetooth started not working all of a sudden, and after trying a variety of commands to troubleshoot the problem, I finally found a working fix for this issue. Open a Terminal ( Ctrl + Alt + T )  and enter below commands one after another.  sudo rmmod btusb sudo modprobe btusb That's it. Your Bluetooth issue would be now solved.  I can guarantee you this problem is going to pop-up every now and then. So copy the above commands to a text file for future uses. Sometimes, even after entering above commands the bluetooth would refuse to turn on. In such cases, just Suspend the system and then wake up it again and check.

Reduce External Monitor Brightness on Ubuntu 20.04, 21.10

External Monitors are a great addition to any workspace. I have a Full HD Benq one connected with my laptop via HDMI cable to do multi-tasking. What I don't like about this setup is the external screen is still very bright even after setting it to the lowest possible setting via physical buttons present on the monitor. Changing brightness on the Laptop doesn't affect the brightness of the external monitor. However, In Ubuntu, you can adjust the brightness level of any connected monitor by opening up a terminal/command line and entering a few comments. Xrandr is the command we would be using to achieve this. How to change External Monitor Brightness on Ubuntu Linux Open a Terminal ( Ctrl + Alt + T ) Enter the command xrandr -q | grep " connected" and press Enter. Find the external monitor name displayed in this command's output. In my case, it is  HDMI-1 To change the brightness enter this command xrandr --output HDMI-1 --brightness 0.5 and press Ente...
